STEAM CASH TRADING GUIDE - READ THIS!
30 November 2015 Uncategorised

When it comes to trading your TF2, DOTA, CS:GO or any other in-game skins for cash, you have a pretty big chance to get scammed if you are new. That's why we are working on a system that will make all trades 100% secure for both sellers and buyers. Until then, we strongly encourage all new cash traders to read the tips below on how to sell your virtual goods as safely as possible:

1. Always check if your trading partner is listed as a scammer on SteamRep.com. Also an additional verification of his activity by doing a Google search of his SteamID64, email address wouldn't hurt.

2. Never do cash trades in a hurry, when you're tired or if your gut tells you that something's shady (the other party has a relatively new Steam account, a low level, only a few hours played, etc).

3. As a seller, you should use a service that won't allow the buyer to charge back for his money after he receives your items; if your buyer doesn't want to send the money first, use a middleman from SteamRep or ask the admin of this community for help.

4. If you use a midleman for your trade, make sure the person who ads you and refers to himself as a middleman is not an impersonator! Make sure that the user's profile or steamID64 matches the real one (Eg: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960487391).

5. In case you want to sell using Paypal, you should know that the cash you receive can be charged back, and you have a very small chance to win a dispute. If you are willing to take this risk, you should check the things below:

5.1 ONLY trade with verified Paypal accounts! You can check whether a Paypal account is verified by logging into your account and pasting this link in the URL address bar (replace [email protected] with your trading partner's Paypal email account): https:[email protected]

5.2 Before the trade takes place, send an email with a trade summary (steamID64 involved in trade, items, total price) to that Paypal email and ask your buyer to reply to the email you sent him with his approval.

6. We strongly recommend the use of a service that won't give your buyer the possibility to charge back, such as Bitcoin (and other virtual currencies), Western Union or our favourite, TransferWise!

TransferWise is a new service from the people who built Skype, to send money around the globe from one bank account to another, at super small fees and no charge back.

The process is very simple: your buyer sends the money to the account TW provides for him in his country, by using internet banking or his credit card; after TW receives the cash, you will get an email to provide your bank account info and the money will be transferred from an account TW has in your country.

This is a new service that we like very much, considering the fees and the fact you can't be charged back, plus some of the people who work there are DOTA lovers :)

If you want to give them a try, click on their logo below, you'll get your first transfer for free for up to £3,000 and you'll help our community by using their service.

Using this new tool is very simple and straight forward. In the BUY/SELL categories on your listing you can find the arrow and gear, just like the picture, use them to manualy/auto bump your listing.

Rules are as follows:

- registered users can manually bump ONE of their listings once a day.
- donors can manually bump ALL of their listings once a day.
- donors can set their posts on auto-bump or make them sticky using the points they get by donating.

We wish you happy/safe trading.

Happy birthday CSGOmarketplace.com :)
29 March 2015 Uncategorised

We are very happy to launch today a sister steam cash trading site. After all the experience we gained through DOTAmarket.com, we give you guys today an exclusive site for Counter Strike: Global Offensive virtual items cash trades. You might wonder what the purpose of this is... Well, below is our reasoning behind this and future projects to come:

  • We want a structured group of sites for cash trading, we don't like to mix things and give people headaches :)
  • Once you have signed up for one of the sites, your account will be valid for all the sites in our group (CSGOmarketplace.com and DOTAmarket.com, for the time being)
  • All the awards and donor points will be available to you for usage on all of the sites (btw, the bump component is still in development, we won't release it until it's stable)
  • 1 reputation thread for all your trades on Steam, the rep thread you create is visible on all our group sites.
  • If your account gets banned on one site, it will be banned on all of the other sites in the group.

How do I create an account?

You can register by clicking on the Sign in trough Steam green icon at the top right side of the page. From there, you will be redirected to the official Steam page(check for the green bar) and you will have the option to login/register using your Steam account.

What type of trades can be done here?

The trades made here will mostly be ones involving cash, so if you are new to this, you might want to read some guides other members of the DOTA community wrote about such trades here.

What about middleman services?

We recommend you the official Steamrep middlemans

Where can I report scammers?

One of our main goals is to keep this community free of scammers. Unfortunately, at the moment we are not able to assist with marking scammers in the Steamrep database. For the time being, we ask that you report any scammers you come across to Steamrep directly. For the trades you do with members of our community, if something goes wrong you can report them on our dedicate area HERE.
